DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BECOME A PIONEER DEALER?
Before committing to completing the application form below, the following
Frequently Asked Questions MUST be read and understood.
-
What are the wholesale minimums a Pioneer dealer must commit to ordering? Pioneer categorise our main dealers and stockists according to quantities ordered. While the minimum order of stock is 12 models per 4-month rolling period, we encourage our dealers to commit to larger trade packs and to invest in newly released models in order to benefit from our ‘Dealer Special’ lines and added promotional awards programmes. More information will be given to prospective applicants during the next stage.
-
Is there a RRP for Pioneer models and spare parts? Although we do not stipulate or insist upon a worldwide recommended retail price, we do state a trade price on the ‘Current Availability’ PDF sent out to dealers when making an order. Models will not be sold for less than this price otherwise dealers will be cautioned and monitored closely.
-
On what platforms can new Pioneer dealers sell? Becoming a Pioneer dealer is straightforward if you wish to sell direct from a physical store/shop or website. We ask that prospective dealers do not have ambitions to sell on eBay. There is a limited pool of buyers on the auction website and we do not want a saturation of stock creating unwelcome fights between dealers. New dealers must find and attract new buyers of Pioneer Slot Cars through diverse and creative marketing.
-
What are the marketing and advertising commitments expected from all Pioneer dealers? Although there are no strict requirements Pioneer do expect all dealers to take part in online marketing, whether that be through email campaigns or social media platforms, and where possible, promote the brand in the slot car racing world. Slot car meets and track racing club events are perfect examples.
-
What is expected of Pioneer dealers across their social media platforms? Social media isn’t for every dealer but for those who are online, interaction with customers can improve sales.
-
What customer service standards are expected from Pioneer dealers? At Pioneer we intend to uphold our reputation for a quality slot car model. We ask dealers to respond to all enquiries regarding models and parts promptly and any questions they cannot answer must be forwarded to us immediately.
-
Can dealers take their own photographs to sell Pioneer products? We encourage dealers to use the standard images supplied at the time of an order being placed, but if the dealer wishes to take their own photographs (as long as these are of a good and clear quality), that is acceptable.
-
Do Pioneer dealers have to stock the spare parts range? No, Pioneer dealers do not have to stock spare parts, although they would be silly not to! Spare parts for our slot cars are extremely popular with KIT builds and modifications. Plus, ordering parts alongside an order for models will not cost dealers extra in postage because they fit comfortably into our trade packs. We recommend stocking the core and popular parts of our range at the least, which can be discussed further during the next stage.
-
What are the shipping costs for Pioneer dealers? We ship our models in 12 and 24 box cartons. The more cartons ordered per dealer, the less it costs to ship per model. For example, a USA dealer would expect to pay approximately $2.60 per model on 1 x box of 24 and $2.00 per model on 3 x boxes of 24. As noted above, there is no extra cost to ordering spare parts alongside models.
Please do not apply if you feel that the above will not suit your application.
